Mai Yamada was born in Tokyo in 1990 and started playing the piano at the age of 3.
She has won numerous awards in competition including National Competition of Piano Claude Kahn(2014), OSAKA International Music Competition(2015), and first prize in All Japan Piano Audition(2012).
She has played as soloist with London's Knightsbridge Philharmonic, Kaposoka Symphony of Angola.
In addition to her busy schedule in Japan, she has given recitals in London and been invited to international music festivals in France and Spain.
She released her debut album "Damase Piano Works" in 2017, which is receiving great acclaim from critics.
In 2018, she started playing with Megumi Nakamura as Mercoledi, a piano and harp duo. Mercoledi released their debut album "Primo Mercoledi" in 2020, which was featured in various media. They served as radio personality in internet radio program of OTTAVA from 2018 to 2020.
She studied with Billy Eidi, and graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo and Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris.
